To Our Valued Guests

Fihalhohi Island Resort's number one priority is the well-being and safety of our guests and team members. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the resort has identified and implemented rigorous procedures and routines in place at all our property regarding enhanced cleaning, physical distancing to all our outlets.

  • Confirmed reservation stating the entire stay. Transit or tourist from other hotels in Maldives will not be permitted.
  • All guests will be cautioned that upon arrival in the Maldives international airport, Velana International Airport, they are required to wear face masks and practice social distancing of at least 1 (one) meter with all who interact with them especially for their conduct before the guests pass Immigrations and Customs and are received by the Airport Representative at the Arrivals Hall.
  • On-arrival visa procedure, and random Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) testing at the airport as well as the safely standards to follow during the stay at Maldives in accordance with the Ministry of Tourism Guidelines.
  • All guests will be warned beforehand that exhibition of any symptoms of COVID-19 at the airport will mean that the guest and all travelling companions will be PCR tested and isolated at transit facilities pending results and that tourists who test positive during their stay may be isolated either at designated isolation at the Resort or on extreme cases, at a separate designated isolation facility.
  • All arrival guests will be requested to install ‘Trace Ekee’ app.
  • In the event of a guest, showing symptoms of COVID-19, our Airport Representative will assist the guests with isolation where applicable.
  • In accordance with the health requirements, all travelers traveling to the Maldives are required to submit an ONLINE SELF-DECLARATIVE HEALTH DECLARATION via https://imuga.immigration.gov.mv/ethd/create within 24 hours before their departure TO and FROM the Maldives.

  • Airport Representative wiII meet the arrival guests wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), which includes masks and gloves. Other PPE such as face shields, gowns, caps, and boot covers will be kept on standby and used if necessary.
  • Each guest will be presented with a "Welcome Kit", which will contain 5 masks and a bottle of hand sanitizer, by our Airport Representative.
  • Our Airport Representative will assist with guests’ luggage, ensuring minimal contact.
  • Guests will be escorted to the boat as soon as the above processes are completed.
  • Once guests have departed to the Resort, our Airport Representatives should dispose of the relevant PPE used during the arrival process in a foot operated bin.
  • Personal disinfection procedures and temperature checks will be done at the beginning and end of shift by our Airport Representative and records kept for reference.
  • All departure guests are required to fill in an exit questionnaire prior to departure from the Resort.
  • Staff handing guests cards and money will wear gloves and masks and gloves will be disposed after the transaction and check-out is completed.
  • Guests in isolation will be allowed to check out as per Maldives Health Protection Agency guidelines and their instructions.

  • Touchless hand sanitizer dispenser will be provided in Public area places.
  • Reduced and spaced out seating on all our transfer and excursion boats.
  • Signage communicating health & safety protocols in public spaces.
  • Increased frequency of cleaning
  • Social distancing guidelines shall be followed in all such common areas

  • All meals served in the Restaurant will be à la carte or set menu.
  • Restaurants, will be disinfected as per Maldives Health Protection Agency guidelines on such eatery establishments and seating layout will be modified to allow minimum of 1 (one) meter between tables.
  • Prior reservation will be taken for all meals and records maintained.
  • Waiters serving the meals will be wearing appropriate PPE and will follow proper social distancing etiquette where applicable.
  • AII frequent touchpoints, tables and chairs will be disinfected after each seating at a table.
  • Touchless hand sanitizer dispenser will be provided at the entrance to the Restaurant.
  • AII Restaurant staff will check their temperature before beginning shift and records will be maintained.
  • Seating areas rearranged to allow physical distancing.
  • Signage communicating health & safety protocols in public spaces.

  • Social distancing guidelines shall be followed in all such common areas.
  • Spa premises will be disinfected as per Maldives Health Protection Agency guidelines on such establishments.
  • All Spa bookings will be done in advance.
  • Treatments rooms will be disinfected after each guest usage.
  • Staff will wear appropriate PPE while doing the treatment. Hand disinfection will be done before and after each treatment.
  • All Spa staff will check their temperature before beginning shift and records will be maintained.
  • Gym will be disinfected as per Maldives Health Protection Agency guidelines on such establishments Gym equipment will be placed 1 (one) meter apart to allow physical distancing.
  • Guests will need to make prior reservation to use gym and records will be maintained.
  • Equipment will be disinfected in-between each gym session.

  • The Resort Doctor will be always on site, standby and on call.
  • Fully equipped with the current regulations set by Maldives Health Protection Agency.
  • Adequate stock of medically certified PPE, which includes Masks, Gloves, Face Shields, Gowns, Caps, and boot covers, will be available at clinic.
  • Guests and staff showing symptoms will be visited in their room by the Resort Doctor in full PPE.
  • The Resort Doctor will have constant contact with such guests and provide periodical counselling where necessary.
  • Clinic will maintain a record of all consultations, especially any patients showing symptoms similar to Influenza or COVID-19.

  • Pre-booking required to participate.
  • Guests will be asked if they have fever or respiratory symptoms at the time of making the booking. Symptomatic people will not be allowed to use these services.
  • Non-diving family members and friends will be discouraged to visit Dive Center to allow physical distancing.
  • Guests’ personal items, including clothing and towels will be stored separately to avoid contact with common surfaces while going for diving.
  • Rental masks if used for fit-testing will be required to disinfect.
  • Rental equipment will be disinfected as indicated, after each use, paying particular attention to regulators, buoyancy-controlled devices, snorkels and masks etc.
  • Divers will be reminded to avoid touching other divers’ equipment, especially those parts that come into close contact with the diver’s face and mouth.
  • Returned rental equipment will be stored separately from areas where disinfected equipment is stored.
  • Disinfect gear such as snorkeling gear, diving masks, tubing and mouth piece for at least 5 minutes.
  • The Dive Centre premises will be disinfected daily.
  • Soap and water / hand sanitizers will be available on board boats and dive center.
  • Masks should be worn if sitting close to another customer or guide.

  • Pre-booking required to participate.
  • Guests will be asked if they have fever or respiratory symptoms at the time of making the booking. Symptomatic people will not be allowed to use these services.
  • During water sports excursions and fishing trips bookings will be taken at a minimum rate to give adequate physical distancing.
  • Guide will ensure that physical distancing is maintained while on board including sitting arrangements inside the boats.
  • Masks should be worn if sitting close to another customer or guide.
  • Equipment and food will not be shared between anyone.
  • Soap and water /hand sanitizers will be available on board boats and water sports center.
  • Surfaces and equipment will be cleaned and disinfected after every trip.
  • The Water Sports premises will be disinfected daily.
  • Returned rental equipment will be stored separately from areas where disinfected equipment is store.

  • All staff will be trained on the use of PPE, disinfection procedures and social distancing measures.
  • All staff will be trained in basic first aid and how to identify a COVID-19 case.
  • All staff that are allowed to depart from the Resort will need to follow current Maldives Health Protection Agency
  • Staff travelling exclusively to Velana International Airport for the purpose of escorting arriving or departing tourists will be exempted from this plan. Exemptions will be made in cases of emergencies under authorization and guidance from Maldives Health Protection Agency.
  • Day workers, entertainers, artists and other third parties that are hired by the Resort may work or perform in the Resort without additional restrictions from the date of opening of guest houses and hotels on inhabited islands, and will subject to the same testing procedure as may be applicable for guests.
  • Front of the House and Back of the House staff will be segregated and accommodated in different blocks based on their department.
  • All staff will be informed and trained on Maldives Health Protection Agency guidelines on social distancing while at their accommodation and other public areas.
